Lightweight Kubernetes distribution: k3s

k3s is a lightweight Kubernetes distribution intended for resource-constrained or IoT appliances with support for ARM64 and ARMv7 chipsets (working just as well as with x86_64): It could become, literally, the Kubernetes distribution for your pocket.

Cloud integration

• k3s: AWS cloud provider: We can install the AWS cloud provider instead of using the default dummy controller

Backup

• k3s: Backup and restore etcd: Using k3s etcd-snapshot we can create a backup of the objects present on a K3S cluster

Ingress

• How to upgrade traefik on an K3S cluster: We can use the helm operator to upgrade traefik to version 2 on a k3s cluster

Storage

• K3s Install longhorn: Longhorn is a distributed storage solution for Kubernetes

Cluster configuration

• Install a multi-master K3s cluster: Since v1.19.5+k3s1 we can install a multi-master K3s cluster

Upgrade controller

• k3s system-upgrade-controller: Using the system-upgrade-controller we can let out k3s cluster to be automatically upgraded
